Looks like the creator of the AI-powered Truth Terminal had their account hacked and used to promote a shaky internet meme-inspired digital coin! This coin rally led to the hackers making a very cool $600,000 profit.
Just after 1:50 am UTC on Oct. 29, a cryptic post showed up on creator Ayrey’s account. It announced a new digital token, the Infinite Backrooms (IB), even including a contract address for the new coin. The effect was immediate, with the IB coin’s value skyrocketing to a whopping $25 million.
But here’s where things get really sketchy. The digital wallet that launched the coin bought 124.6 million IBs for a mere $38,400 at launch. Within 45 minutes, all of these were sold, netting the hackers a huge profit of $602,500. That’s some serious cash.
Now, Ayrey’s account is still in the hands of these hackers, who keep posting about new coins and sharing links to chat groups.
You might know the Truth Terminal from its part in boosting another digital coin, the Goatseus Maximus (GOAT), to a crazy high value of $940 million. Right now, that coin is trading at $637 million, a bit of a drop from its all-time high on Oct. 24.
It seems the Truth Terminal wasn’t really involved in launching the GOAT. It just endorsed it after someone else had already put it out there.
Truth Terminal is a pretty advanced AI bot that Ayrey likes to describe as being fine-tuned. It works on its own at times, with Ayrey popping in now and then to approve its posts and decide who it gets to mingle with.
This whole incident has now prompted more AI bots to try their hand at trading and discussing cryptocurrencies on social media. It’s quite the digital age we’re living in, huh?
