Bitcoin has made a big leap following Donald Trump’s election as the next U.S. President, jumping almost 30% to smash new records by surpassing $90,000 in just a week. Now, experts are making their best guesses about how much higher or lower Bitcoin might go by end of the year.
Lennix Lai from crypto exchange OKX expects Bitcoin to surpass a price of $100,000 by the last trading day of 2024. He believes that the crypto market is entering a new growth phase, which could push Bitcoin beyond 100k by the end of the year.
However, Lai warns that several positive factors–including the election results and rising stock markets–have already been factored into Bitcoin’s recent surge.
Another analyst Tony Sycamore from IG Markets thinks Bitcoin will end the year somewhere between $90,000 and $95,000, noting that much of the “good news” following Trump’s election has already been factored into Bitcoin’s surprising rally to over $90,000.
Meanwhile, Josh Gilbert of eToro believes that Bitcoin’s record-breaking run is far from over and predicts that it will reach a new all-time high of $100,000 by the year’s end.
CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju offers a less optimistic outlook, predicting Bitcoin to close the year at $58,974, due to overheated derivatives activity causing an imminent correction.
Pav Hundal from SwyftX expects BTC to close out 2024 trading just above $100,000, while Guy Armoni from HDI Fund expects the Bitcoin bull market will extend into 2025, with Bitcoin potentially reaching as high as $250,000.
In general, despite the overarching excitement, most analysts warn of high volatility and major price corrections for Bitcoin in the coming months. Overall, the opinion among analysts is that Bitcoin will close the year trading at or above the $100,000 mark.
