30s Summary
Morpheus, a decentralized artificial intelligence initiative, is active and striving to prevent the control and censorship of AI. By using the code from Lumerin and running on the Arbitrum blockchain, Morpheus aims to offer personal “smart agents” that can perform tasks like validating smart contracts and integrating with other Web3 platforms. Its membership in the Decentralized AI Society underscores its commitment to challenging the domination of big tech over AI data. Similar AI decentralization projects include Bittensor, dAIOS, and Boltzmann Network.

Morpheus, an initiative trying to break up the control over artificial intelligence by making it decentralized, is officially up and running, according to an announcement made on X (once known as Twitter) this past Monday. Morpheus, like other decentralized AI networks, is trying to curb some of the negative impacts of AI such as centralized control, censorship, and monopolistic control over data.
There are other decentralized AI projects like Morpheus, including Bittensor, dAIOS, and Boltzmann Network. Recently, Morpheus joined the Decentralized AI Society, which is an organization with a focus on challenging the big tech companies that currently hold a lot of control over AI data.
Morpheus was created with the code used for Lumerin. This protocol runs on the Arbitrum blockchain (a layer-2 that operates on top of Ethereum, the largest smart contract network). Morpheus was initially launched in a public test environment in July. The platform promises to deliver personal AI’s or “smart agents” that will empower individuals similar to how personal computers and search engines have in the past. According to the team behind Morpheus, these agents can take on tasks such as executing smart contracts and connecting to individuals’ Web3 wallets, DApps, and smart contracts.
